Christmas in July!

In between moving stuff & before I have to pack away my machine, I've started another quilt top!  Using my Christmas fat quarters I got on the shop hop.  Making pretty good progress in 1 day!  I'm almost half way done with the blocks needed!

I'm Back!!! (Briefly)

House is sold!  So I don't have to have it ready to show at a moments notice, & can pull my stuff out & sew a bit!  I got sooooo many goodies during the shop hop I don't really know where to start!  Trying to keep it small though since will all too soon have to pack it away for the move!  Here's a peek at the boo crew charm pack.

Hit the last store in my region today!  But since house is now officially on the market, I had to pack away all my craft stuff.... so probably no more posts till new house is built!  :)

Shop Hop Day 5!

Went to Kirkville today, what a cute shop!!!!  Picked up my favorite pattern that I've seen using the Iowa fabric!  Can't wait to start on this one!

Shop Hop Day 4!

Only 2 stores left in the SE region!  The store in Lucas was so cute!  Lots of great stuff!  Here's a pic of my next project!!!! 

Shop Hop Day 3

Ran over to shop by Oski/Eddyville, look at the goodies that came home with me!!!  They also have 3 sizes of metal quilt blocks.  Garden, Garage(?), & Barn size.  Once we get the house built I'm definitely going to return for one (or more) of those!

Day 2 of Shop Hop

Drug my DH to the shops in West Does Moines.... don't feel bad for him though!  We got there and found an all ford car show happening on the street, so he was thrilled! 

Got the last of the material I'll need for my Twisted Jack & have started to assemble!

Day 1 Shop Hop!

Hit 5 stores today and got so many wonderful fabrics and other stuff!  Here's a sneak peak of the project I just had to start right away!

My new 1/4" foot came today!  Hope the weather isn't so severe like it has been!  Wonder if they will extend it another week if a few stores are unreachable due to flooded roads?

Grandma Stampe's Quilt

This is one of the quilts Grandma Stampe made.  We have 2 or 3 others yet.  Of the three we use this one is in the best condition, but I really need to do some fixes in it where it has torn.  I wish we still had the quilt my grandma made for me.  It was well loved and used to pieces.  I saved some material from it though to use in one of my future quilts.

The Quilters Kitchen

Book took me about 30 minutes to read.  Almost half of it was recipes.  Not being much of a cook myself, I would have preferred more story.  Probably a very good thing that it was such a short read, I won't be distracted by it when I should be getting my house work done!

Two Church Block Options Done!

Still plan on doing 1 or 2 more pinwheels, but in different colors.  Going to try to do a paper pieced tractor block too, but at 6" max block size, it might prove a little too difficult!

Stopped by the library and picked up 4 new books!  Got the next 3 books in the Elm Creek Quilts novel series & Better Homes And Gardens 505 Quilt Blocks.  Some really cute blocks & a few projects too.  My shopping list for the shop hop grew quite a bit with ideas.

27 Days Til Shop Hop!

Started working a little on a new quilt top, but spent most of my day trying to work out what route to take on my hops on what days.  I better also work on a spending budget so I don't go too crazy on the credit cards!

Also need to start thinking about our church family quilt block!  Have a few ideas, but need more details/ etc before I start working on it.

Quilt Show Day 2

Didn't make it up to see it, the freak snow storm changed my mind!  Snow in May!?!?  Haven't had snow this late in the spring since like 1967!  Not that I was alive back then. 

Got one of the chickens hand stitched outline done on the Farm Memories mini quilt.  Started the second one.  Haven't figured out my machine tension problem yet, actually haven't even looked at it yet.

Pella Tulip Time Quilt Show

The quilt show opens on Wednesday, May 1st at 12:00 pm until 6 pm and continues Thursday and Friday, May 2nd and May 3rd from 9 am until 6 pm and Saturday, May 4th from 9 am until 4 pm.

Farm Memories Mini

Got a lot done this afternoon on this mini quilt top!  I'm having some tension issues on my machine, so need to read my manual before I go any further.  I'm still hoping to have it completed by the weekend!   Fingers crossed!!!

Pinterest Problems

So I have like 7 UFOs and I need to stay away from Pinterest I have decided.  I keep finding more patterns that get me so excited to start another project!  I am going to try to focus on finishing at least one of these UFOs this week!

The Quilter's Homecoming

Not quite noon & I've completed reading my third book & worked as far as I can on the Hawkeye chevron quilt.  I do need to run to town for a few items, maybe I'll pick up the rest of the fabric I'll need to finish this top.  My points don't line up perfect everywhere, but the busy pattern seems to make the mistakes harder to notice.

Finished the 2nd book I brought home from the library & am almost through the 3rd one!  Guess I'll be making another trip to the library again on Monday to return them!  Worked some on the hawkeye chevron quilt top also.  But now off to bed!

The Christmas Quilt

So after work I stopped by the local library, & picked up the next three books in the Elm Creek Quilts book series.  About 4 hours later I now have finished reading one.  I'm debating whether I should start the next one, "Circle Of Quilters" tonight yet.... maybe a chapter or two!  Not like I need to get up early for work tomorrow!  ;)

Ready-Set-Go! Jelly Roll Racing!

Saw this on YouTube, it's pretty cute (and quick!).  MissouriQuiltCo always does really nice tutorials.  I'm kind of hoping someone I know has a baby girl so I can try this with a black and white jelly roll and then get some pretty pink (or red?) material to applique flowers (or hearts?) on the top.  How cute would that be!

My First Block

Hoping to have enough time today to finish the top of my mom's Christmas gift.  (Yes, I know Christmas is like 8 months away.  BUT, I like to be done with gifts by July when I can!)

Abi's Baby Quilt DONE!

I think this is officially the first quilt I've completed!  Used the "quilt as you go" method I saw on YouTube.  Basically you have all 3 layers together & just like it's called, quilt all at once then finish with your binding.  Was working on binding when last machine died on me.

Look What Came Yesterday!

After 2 long weeks of waiting!  "Sew" excited!  (Sorry for the bad pun!)  Worked on some quilt blocks till way past my bed time!  Wouldn't have been bad, had I been working to complete the two gift quilts that got put on hold when my old one konked out.... but sadly no! 

So I guess I should say a few words about my new blog .... 

Here it is!  ;)  J/K!  Plan on documenting my (mis)adventures in quilting.  Haven't been doing it long, so very much the beginner.
