Folded Star Potholder
Pinterest might be evil, but I'm getting close to 90% of my ideas for Christmas presents on it. Here's the start to my first attempt at a quilted start potholder. Working up fairly quickly & easily so far! Still feeling under the weather, so won't finish it today.

Making progress!
The cold/flu bug hit our house this past week. Today was the first day that I felt like doing some sewing. I have the top 2 rows done, & sashing almost done on the rest (4 to go). Should be good on getting this project done before its needed!

Lil Pillow
Finished another small gift. Made this stitching into a little decoration for my mom for Christmas. Really should be working on the T-shirt quilt. Maybe today!

Chicken!
Just finished stitching the chicken for another Christmas gift! Think this will end up being a small throw pillow for my mom. :)

Fourth Snowflake
Just about done with the 4th snowflake. I think this will be a cute table runner for my mom for Christmas this year. I already have 2 other gifts bought & am waiting on one other to come in the mail. It's strange, I know, to be buying/making gifts already, but it sure makes the holidays less stressful to have the majority of the gifts ready by July! Often by Christmas I've forgotten what some of the gifts are that I wrapped so early in the year that its a surprise for me too when they open them! :)

Learning Redwork
I should be in my sewing room sashing the T-shirt quilt... But look what the mailman brought! My red embroidery thread! Going to make a small table runner to start. Here are the 2 snowflakes I've done so far. Two more to go then will be working on a snowman design for the center.

Ready 4 the weekend!
Yesterday I stopped at the quilt shop to stock up with needed supplies to keep busy this weekend (& beyond)! Got the backing and fabric for sashing the T-shirt quilt. Of course found & bought more cute fabric for starting my next quilt and some for backing my other UFO that I've been working on (pictures soon)!
Here's a shot of one of the panels that will be the next quilt I start. Something I know my mom would love, but I had other ideas for the quilt I was planning for her next. Maybe will get this one done & to her as the other one will be a little more complicated.

Baby It's COLD Outside!
Brrrrr! Our temp high today is going to be -2, and that's without the wind chill! Staying inside warm and cozy today. Finished the binding on dad's Iowa quilt last night. Can't wait to give it to him!
I'm not one for making new years resolutions, mainly because I'm one of those that never keeps it up till February. But I do have a couple goals this year. Obviously to quilt more, and finish those projects instead of adding to my ever growing UFOs. Post on this blog more of the projects I'm working on. And to tackle the scrap pile! I have two projects in mind to help with the scrap. One is a simple quilt as you go string block for the long (skinnier) pieces. The other is a quilt as you go hexagon. Have one done so far, and have a few more cut ready for the machine.
Here's to a great 2015!

Update on projects
With the holiday season over I'm finally getting back in my sewing room. Last weekend got all but the last top block done for a graduation T-shirt quilt for nephew.
Hoping to fishing block this weekend then a little shopping is needed to get backing/etc. :)
Finally got quilt back!
So happy to get call yesterday that dad's quilt was ready to be picked up! Got started on the binding right away, should have it finished today!
